A TYPICAL WEEKEND
AT CLOUDLAND STATION


Arrive Friday Evening

Grab a cup of coffee at the mill coffee shop, then join a small crowd at the Orchards fire pit. Kids run off and play Flashlight Tag in Firefly Cove or a game of kick-the-can in Lantern Cove.

Everyone meets at the Orchard Sweet Shop for a late evening snack then they head to their cabins for a good nights sleep. 

A few couples head to town for a late night card game in the Town Hall meeting room. A few others stoke the fires at the Orchard fire-pit under the stars.

Saturday Morning
Dad’s up early cooking pancakes, bacon and eggs in the cabin kitchen. Kids head out to the recreation barn to meet other kids and play a myriad of games including – ping pong, foos ball, human foos ball, skittles, basketball, and 4 square. Mom and Dad take a bike ride through the valley and around Lake Angela where they stop for a quick canoe ride.

They then head back to the cabin. Mom decides to read a book on the front porch rocker, while Dad heads to the Orchards to hang out and play Bocce and Horseshoes with a few of the other men.

Mom later heads downtown to hang out with some of the other ladies in the tea room overlooking Ruins Park and Wishing Bridge Pond 

Saturday Early Afternoon 

The whole family meets at the Town Café for lunch.

After lunch everyone heads to Lantern Park to swim in the saline infinity-edge pool. The kids rope swing at the swim’n hole, slide down the mountain slide, play soccer and football poolside in the kick-the-can field. 

Dad lays on the grass amphitheatre and takes a snooze above all the noise. Mom sunbathes with the other moms with intermittent dips in the pool.

Saturday Late Afternoon 

The whole family takes a hike to the waterfalls and then takes a mule cart ride up to Highlands Overlook Park.

Each has a book, game or something to enjoy while lying in the grass and taking in 100-mile long views across the Tennessee Divide towards the Cahutta Mountains.

Early Saturday Evening:

The whole family packs it in and drives to downtown Chattanooga 15 minutes away with two other families for BBQ at Sticky Fingers.

Late Saturday Evening

Back at Lantern Park, the lanterns are lit up and sand volleyball is in full swing. A few musically gifted members are entertaining others with their guitars who lounge under an early moon at the amphitheatre next to the pool.
 
Saturday Night

Everyone hops in the Mule Cars and head to the Orchard Sweet Shoppe for a treat. After that, everyone takes the to the mountain for a mule ride to see the valley lights sparkle below.

After the mountain ride, everyone heads to downtown. Some adults enjoy the café, the ruins patio, and the town hall, while others spread out under the lampposts in the town green for some laughter under the stars. The kids head into the Opera House for a family style movie.

Late Saturday Night:

Final snacks for the late night stragglers and then most everyone heads back through a moonlit valley to their cozy cottages and cabins.

A few men hangout and smoke cigars at the Ice House park, while several other couples enjoy a late glass of wine in the treehouse.

A few midnight strollers go stargazing at Maple Hill vineyards.

Sunday Morning

Some just sleep in late, others go to a local place of worship, while others head to the Cloudland Station Chapel to hear a guest speaker.

Sunday Afternoon

After lunch in the cabins, a Geo Cache adventure has a group of families heading up to discover the latest treasure goodies hidden somewhere at Cloudland Station.

Others engage in more swimming, hiking, biking fishing, and relaxation before heading back home.

Departure Later Afternoon

You pack the kids up and head home. Everyone is renewed and looking forward to returning to Cloudland Station in a few short weeks.


NEXT VISIT

Enjoy an approach altogether different. Take a few solo hikes, lie around in the tall grass alongside a babbling creek, hang out in your cozy cabin, and basically do just about nothing all weekend.
